So, Arsenal did a lot of business this window. Here are the ins and outs (this is gonna be a long post):
Ins:
Gabriel Martinelli (Ituano) - £6m
Dani Ceballos (Real Madrid) - Loan
William Saliba (Saint Ettiene) - £28m
Nicolas Pepe (Lille) - £72m
Kieran Tierney (Celtic) - £25m
David Luiz (Chelsea) - £8m
Outs:
Petr Cech (Retirement)
Aaron Ramsey (Juventus) - Free
Danny Welbeck (Watford) - Free
Stephan Lichtsteiner (Released)
David Ospina (Napoli) - £3m
William Saliba (Saint Ettiene) - Loan
Xavier Amaechi (Hamburg) - £2m
Krystian Bielik (Derby County) - £10m
Takuma Asano (Partizan Belgrade) - £1m
Laurent Koscielny (Bordeaux) - £5m
Carl Jenkinson (Nottingham Forest) - £2m
Dominic Thompson (Brentford) - £1m
Eddie Nketiah (Leeds) - Loan
Alex Iwobi (Everton) - £40m
The signings we have made have all been in our budget and that's a fact. Even though we payed just £5m up front for Saliba and just £20m for Pepe up front. We had to pay full price for every other player (Ceballos loan cost £3m). That makes Arsenal spend around £67m. A full £27m more than they supposedly had. The sales are what we have for January and the prices I have listed here is what Arsenal got up front. More could come as well, as the window for the rest of Europe doesn't close until the end of the month. Here's who I expect to leave.
- Shkodran Mustafi (£25m) - A lot of clubs in Ligue 1 want him and Arsenal slapped a £25m pound price tag and teams are rivaling for his signature so someone has to pay it.
- Mohamed Elneny (£10m) - Galatasaray very close to signing him and could've left yesterday.
- Nacho Monreal (£5m) - After Tierney has come Nacho has been put in doubt as Spanish clubs are circling.
- Konstantinos Mavropanos (Loan) - Not gonna get any game time and suitors are in for him.
That leaves us with a potential £104m to spend in January. A mammoth amount. Here's what business I think they will do in January.
Ins:
Dayot Upamecano (Leipzig) - £70m
Liberato Cacace (Wellington Phoenix) - £500k
Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth) - £10m
Christian Fruchtl (Bayern) - £3m
Outs:
Emile Smith Rowe - Loan
Bukayo Saka - Loan
Spend most of the money on a centre back. Dayot Upamecano will have 18 months on his contract and have pressure to sell and would sell lower than his release clause. Cacace is a young, talented New Zealand, left back. He plays in Australia and could replace Monreal as he is only 18 years old. Ryan Fraser will only have 6 months on his contract and could be signed for very cheap and could replace Iwobi, an upgrade. Christian Fruchtl the Bayern young gun goalkeeper will also have 6 months on his contract and is 19. We will get a low fee for him and he would be a good addition. Saka and Smith Rowe can go on loan for experience.
Would you take this Arsenal Fans?
