It has come out today that Barcelona £142m star, Phil Coutinho. Could move to Arsenal on a 2 year loan for a whopping £27m with an option to buy that is undisclosed. Coutinho has struggled to consistently nail down a spot in the starting XI since moving to Spain, but Arsenal are said to be offering a way out. But surely Arsenal don't need him, right? With Coutinho primarily playing on the left, Coutinho could struggle for game time at Arsenal with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang currently operating that position. With Unai Emery favouring 4-2-3-1, the only possible position Coutinho could play is the number 10. But with an overload of talent in that position, surely he is not needed. Arsenal fans have been pretty negative over the transfer and I can see why. Coutinho only scored 5 goals and 2 assists in 22 games in La Liga for Barcelona last season and averaged 0.9 key passes per game and just 1.5 dribbles. He was dispossessed 1.4 times a game and he is a player that offers little defensive contribution, unlike Emery's style. He didn't even average a defensive contribution a game last season and wouldn't fit Emery's system. Although saying this, while he wouldn't fit Arsenal and didn't have a great season last season. He would still be a good signing for another club. He had a good Copa America campaign, trumping nearly every stat he did in La Liga. But is Coutinho right for Arsenal?
